Nancy Wickersheim started the Eudora Dance Workshop five years ago with her husband Dave. After her husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was told he would be lucky to live a year, the couple decided to continue square dancing. Her husband danced for three more years before he died.
Wickersheim, 73, established the workshop for people who have previously taken lessons and want to improve their square dancing.
The best part about square dancing is being in a group with people who love to square dance, she said. The hardest part is actively listening to the calls, but square dancing is a lot of fun, she said.
Wickersheim has visited multiple states, including Nebraska, Illinois, Missouri, Georgia and Florida, to square dance.
