Baldwin City man found guilty for counterfeiting soap, criminally fined

BY SYDNEY HOOVER

A Baldwin City man was sentenced to a 12-month probation and a $1,000 fine for misdemeanor counterfeit, according to a news release from the Kansas attorney general’s office.

Brian E. Glenn was charged after pleading guilty to one count of counterfeiting in Douglas County District Court.

The charge stemmed from an investigation that found Glenn had been in possession of soap with counterfeit markings to resemble Tide laundry detergent with the intent to sell. This is a violation of Kansas criminal law.

Glenn also has an underlying prison sentence of 12 months in the Douglas County jail.
