The Eudora Times will again go on winter break within the next few days and return to regular reporting in mid-January. However, we’ll have some big changes in the works in the meantime.
Thanks to outreach from an industry partner, we hope to launch a brand new – and more functional – website by mid-January. We’ve been trying to do this for a year already and this donation will significantly improve the appearance and functionality of our online newspaper as well as our e-newsletter that goes out every Wednesday afternoon.
Our outgoing editor Sydney Hoover will spend weeks transferring content from our current website into the new one so that our archive remains in place.
The next big change, as I’ve mentioned before, is that Sydney graduates from college this month and will leave our Eudora Times team. It’s impossible to put into words the significance of her work to keep the Eudora Times going throughout 2020 and during a pandemic. We simply could not have done it without her, and her moving on to a bright new future in journalism is bittersweet.
Lucie Krisman will take over as editor in January, with Chris Fortune remaining as our sports editor and religion editor. Nicole Asbury will join our team as school editor, and Cami Koons will be back to do more feature reporting in January.
Each step forward we make puts us on more stable ground with this endeavor. As always, your donations to us through KU Endowment help keep us going.

Happy holidays, and we’ll see you again in January.
