County conducting survey over willingness to receive COVID-19 vaccine

BY SYDNEY HOOVER

Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health is asking residents to complete a survey about their willingness to receive an FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available, according to a news release.

The survey asks about willingness or hesitancy toward a vaccine, decision-making factors in being vaccinated, and preferences for vaccine resources and vaccination sites in the county.

“These voices and responses will help us as we plan for the best way to distribute the future vaccine and make it accessible to everyone in our community once it becomes available,” said Alex Kimball Williams, health equity planner with Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health.

The survey is available online in English, Spanish and Chinese. Paper copies of the survey will also be available at the following locations:

  • Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont St.

  • Lawrence Workforce Center, 2920 Haskell Ave. #2

  • Peaslee Technical Center, 2920 Haskell Ave. Suite 100

  • Lawrence City Hall, 6 E. Sixth St.

Paper copies can also be requested by calling 785-856-4343 or emailing info@ldchealth.org.

The survey will run through Nov. 4.
