The team at The Eudora Times has spent the past several weeks working on some great stories about the interesting things happening in the community. We look forward to sharing more in the next few months.
Whether we will continue in 2020, however, is truly dependent on the results of our initial crowdfunding campaign. To date, we’re two-thirds of the way to our modest goal of $1,250. This is enough to pay our expenses for fall and to look into keeping someone on during Christmas break.
In other words, it’s only the beginning, not an end, of the financial resources needed to keep this small business going.
We see this initial campaign as an indicator of whether the community wants us to continue and will be there in the long term helping us to continue. That is why it’s so critical for us to reach our entire goal.
We thank those who have already donated. Donations can be made at https://www.launchku.org/project/16454.
We hope the community sees the value of local news. Due to our uniqueness with our university partnership, we are able to operate at a substantially lower cost than other news organizations. Yet we still have a bottom line we need to meet.
The next 25 days left in our crowdfunding campaign will determine whether a newspaper continues in Eudora’s future. We hope it’s one we’ll continue together.
