After a contentious election with record voter turnout, here are the winners from three contested races appearing on Eudora’s ballots:
Kansas Senate District 3: With a third of precincts reporting at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Democrat Tom Holland and Willie Dove were neck and neck, with Holland leading by fewer than 400 votes.
U.S. Senate: Republican Roger Marshall defeated Democrat Barbara Bollier for the open seat in the U.S. Senate. The Associated Press called the race with just over 70% of precincts reporting Tuesday night as Marshall took an 11-point lead. Marshall’s total votes aligned closely with total votes in the presidential race.
U.S. House District 2: Republican Jake LaTurner was declared the winner of the U.S. House District 2 seat over Democrat Michelle De La Isla. LaTurner led by a 52-44 margin with 75% of precincts reporting.
