The event is not open to the public but the group is looking for boats to borrow. Friends of the Kaw is looking for volunteers for a community work day from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Eudora boat ramp. Volunteers will work on removing non-native plants and planting new, native grass, wildflowers, trees, etc. Those interested should contact Kim Bellemere at kim.bellemere@kansasriver.org.
