Christmas hayrides: Eudora Parks and Recreation will host hayrack rides every Tuesday and Thursday starting this week. Three ride times are available at 6, 6:40 and 7:30 p.m. Rides are limited to 10 participants and recommends a $2 donation per rider. Masks are required.
Wine tasting: BlueJacket Crossing Vineyard and Winery will host a champagne and sparkling wine tasting in partnership with Uncorked Pianist LLC and Mary Kirkendoll. The event will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 and is limited to 12 people. Registration closes Dec. 7 and costs $100 per person. Attendees will have the opportunity to try a variety of champagne and wine from the U.S., Italy, Spain and France. Those interested can register here.
Letters to Santa: The Children’s Room and Teen Space at the Eudora Community Library has a mailbox out for children to mail their letters to Santa. The mailbox will be out through Dec. 16 at the library, 14 E. Ninth St. Children should include their name and address on the letter to receive a response from one of Santa’s helpers.
December Dash: Eudora Parks and Recreation will host its 8th annual December Dash at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 19. The race will explore new trails developed in Eudora. Registration includes a $20 fee and participants will receive a T-shirt and a neck gaiter to wear during the race. Pre-registration will end Dec. 12, and any registration after that will cost $25.

We will publish event notices once for free before requiring the purchase of an ad.
We also will accept birth announcements, engagement/marriage/anniversary announcements, high school and college graduation announcements, and pet news. Pet news could include announcement of a new pet, a story about a pet or an obituary for a pet. The cost of these various announcements will be $20 each, which includes a photo submission. The fee is to support personnel who must prepare this information for publication.
