Good Neighbor: Community Events and Announcements

Zoom meeting with Santa: The Eudora Times and the Eudora Convention and Visitors Bureau will host a Zoom meeting with Santa at 4 p.m. Thursday. Those interested in participating can sign up at tinyurl.com/eudorasanta and will be sent a link to the Zoom prior to the event.

COVID-19 mass testing: Douglas County will host another round of mass asymptomatic testing events starting Saturday, including one in Eudora noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Community Center. Other events include:

  • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 12 and 19 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St.

  • Noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 16 at Baker University’s Liston Stadium, 100 Fremont St.

  • Noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 20 at Lecompton Elementary School, 626 Whitfield St.

The events will be drive-thru and by appointment only. Appointments can be scheduled at https://ldcph.simplybook.me/v2/#book.

Carols for seniors: Eudora residents will gather at Medicalodges and Homestead senior living facilities to deliver gifts for the facilities’ residents and sing carols to the staff. The event will take place at 10 a.m. Dec. 18. Participants are encouraged to spread out around the facilities to social distance and to wear warm clothing as they will be outside.

The Good Neighbor section will publish every Tuesday when there is content.

We will publish event notices once for free before requiring the purchase of an ad.

We also will accept birth announcements, engagement/marriage/anniversary announcements, high school and college graduation announcements, and pet news. Pet news could include announcement of a new pet, a story about a pet or an obituary for a pet. The cost of these various announcements will be $20 each, which includes a photo submission. The fee is to support personnel who must prepare this information for publication.

Send us your Good Neighbor news and events at eudoratimes@gmail.com.
