Clearfield School Tour: The Clearfield School, a preserved historical building in Douglas County, will be open for the Kaw Valley Farm Tour from 9 to 6 Saturday, Oct. 3 and 1 to 5 Sunday, Oct. 4. The school, a one-room school house at 2162 N. 600 Road, was recently rehabilitated and added to the National Registry of Historic Places. The Kaw Valley Farm Tour includes 30 locations from family farms to wineries and vineyards throughout the Kaw River Valley. The tour is self-guided and participants can develop their own itinerary of locations to visit.
Kansas River-Kings Festival: The Kansas River-Kings Museum will host a virtual festival Oct. 18 with contributions from the Eudora Area Historical Society. The historical society will provide information on the Kansas and Wakarusa Rivers and Native Americans in Eudora. More details will be provided closer to the day of the festival.

We also will accept birth announcements, engagement/marriage/anniversary announcements, high school and college graduation announcements, and pet news. Pet news could include announcement of a new pet, a story about a pet or an obituary for a pet. The cost of these various announcements will be $20 each, which includes a photo submission. The fee is to support personnel who must prepare this information for publication.
