STAFF REPORTS
Attendees of a recent religious conference in Kansas City, Kansas, may have been exposed to COVID-19, the state Health Department said Tuesday afternoon.
People who attended the Kansas East Jurisdiction’s 2020 Ministers and Workers Conference at the Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ at 2106 Quindaro Blvd. from March 16-22 should monitor themselves for symptoms.
This event has been identified as a place of exposure for multiple people in Kansas who have since become ill and tested positive, the Health Department said in a news release.
The department advises anyone with symptoms, but who is not ill enough to seek medical care, to stay at home at least seven days after symptoms started or until significant improvement, whichever is longer.
Anyone with more serious symptoms should call a health care provider beforehand to inform them of the potential exposure to COVID-19 and the need for medical attention.
Symptoms for COVID-19 appear two to 14 days after exposure and include fever, cough and shortness of breath. Other rarer symptoms that may develop include malaise, sore throat and diarrhea.
