A second Eudora Elementary School staff member reported having a positive test for the coronavirus, according to an email sent to families Wednesday evening.
Areas of the school the staff member was frequently in will be closed and disinfected. The Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department was notified to begin working on further steps, including contact tracing.
The staff member is required to quarantine for at least 10 days.
Another staff member at Eudora Elementary reported testing positive Monday, as well as a Eudora High School student.
Eudora Schools spokesman Mark Dodge said Tuesday the district will continue following protocol provided by the health department and practicing safety precautions in district buildings.
Eudora Elementary School will open as normal tomorrow. The Eudora School Board will also meet tomorrow to reevaluate the current situation and determine whether to stay in hybrid learning or move into a different model.
